It is furry like and very soft. I'm glad he didn't chew it up. I thought he would but he didn't. He doesn't mind going to bed since he has this nice soft furry bed for himself. It also has some rubber slip resistant on the bottom side and is machine washable and dryer safe on a lower temp.
